KT Tunstall, Southampton Guildhall
Arranging tickets late last week for the sold-out gig was a miracle! Southampton Guildhall is a fantastic venue for a big sound, and voice. A really amazing gig, so very superior to an album which a recording studio really couldn't do justice to!
The new album, Eye To The Telescope, out recently from which Black Horse & The Cherry Tree won Q Awards Track Of The Year is a must listen. Supporting act Mr.Ed Harcourt is another artist to look out for!
Tom Vek, WedgeWood Rooms Portsmouth
Another last minute arrangemnt, that I should have secured so much in advance. The WedgeWood Rooms in Portsmouth is a great little venue, very initmate and a BIG, full sound. Part of Tom's 'We Have Sound' Tour to promote his debut album, released in about March of this year, there were many of the album tracks plus some future material, including his next single....definitely will be looking out for the next album.
Foo Fighters New Album!
The Foos are recording a new album, celebrating their 10th year together with this 5th album! Dave sounds as alive and upbeat about the album as the last stormer 'One by One' which is just superb...if you haven't bought a copy yet, do yourelf a favour and go now! There is 4-5 hours of material which was primarily written at home though the recording will be in LA in Foos very own recording studio complex.
Well, all you fans I'm waiting for both the album, and the European tour as much, if not more than the rest of you! Having been lucky enough to see them play at Wembley for the 'One by One' tour, I can't wait to see them again! Fantastic...
QOTSA New Album too!
Brilliant!! Queens of The Stone Age are another of my favourite bands, and after 'Songs for the Deaf' I'm hungry for this new album, which is scheduled for release in March. Tour dates have already been announced for the States and Canada but nothing on the European front yet! See See Tickets to keep yourself informed of upcoming dates.
Muses' Apocalyptic Pleaser @ Earls Court!
What a treat to see Muse live at Earls Court! What can I say, other than "Go and see them if you have the chance!" and "You have to buy 'Absolution' (their latest album).....if you haven't heard them live, you dont know what you're missing out on....from the giant helium filled weather sized balloons floating around to the thousands of balloons dropped mid gig... to the throwing of guitars into the crowd!! dates.
Great gig, and I'll certainly be looking out for the next tour!
