Land Rover Defender 90 Offroading Alton, Hampshire
Most definietly the vehicle of choice I would have to say, having seen all
the Discoverys and Range Rovers struggle. The Defender just got on with the
job, leaving you wondering what all the fuss was about with that 'piddly'
little incline!
I'd never driven offroad either, and I have to say I got off to a great start,
driving straight into a tree stump and denting in the front drivers wing. I'm
assured it just pulls out however, ahem, sorry Diggs.

Lotus Sport Exige
Developed by Lotus Sport, the performance division of Lotus (as if Lotus wasn't sporty enough), the new Exige is a direct derivative of the roadcar. The Exige, although designed and engineered by Lotus, has had the lightweight carbon-fibre bodywork built by RTN, the company resposnible for the Le Mans winning Bentley.
From the front splitter to the diffuser, to the adjustable rear carbon wing the styling just oozes adrenalin and octane, and weighing in at a mere 850kg with a 3 litre, 400 bhp, 300 lb ft torque engine, you're guaranteed to have some fun! Do the maths.....400 bhp and 850kg means a whopping 471 bhp per tonne. Bolt on some 6 Piston AP Racing Calipers, some vented 13 inch discs and you're going to stop quickly too. When can I have my test drive!!? A few days at the Nurburgring should do nicely.... Lotus Sport, I'm waiting for that email.
Bentley Continental GT
Six litres..12 cylinders in the 'W' arrangement coupled with two turbos and a six speed gearbox.....WOW! It is just a gorgeous piece of engineering from the inside out. From the dials to the centre console to the Breitling clock, the technology surrounded by walnut just looks fabulous. The movement and precision of the climate vent adjusters show the level of detail to which Bentley have paid, and I have to say, I've never been much of a Bentley fan. But that has all changed.
The Bentley is a 2+2 luxury supercar, competeing with the likes of the Ferrari 575M and Mercedes CL Class. With a 0-62 MPH of just 4.7 seconds it's not shabby at all for a luxury car and with a top wack of 190+ MPH you get places quickly, infact....very quickly indeed. I just need to get myself behind the wheel now! Hmmmmm....
The Retro 205 GTi
Being back behind the steering wheel of my beloved 205 GTi post the Christmas and New Years break has re-affirmed my love for the car. Those of you unfortunate enough not to have driven one of the real hot hatches of the 80s, are missing out....I know there will be some amongst you who dislike the car but what can I say? The turn into corners is just so assuring and predicatable, whilst accelerating and getting pull in every gear before the 4 disc braking to poise and position the car for the next S-bend. Such fun. I promise all of you non 205 fans, you are missing out, and if you're such critics why exactly do you drive the typical saloon in the typical colour with the typical mpg???
