Donegal & Derry Ireland, March 2005

Five Finger Strand, Malin Head

Easter in Ireland

It's hard to beleive that the photo is taken at Malin Head, North Donegal in March! The tropical sunshine followed Louise and me from South England as it did last time! We had a fabulous four day break from work, it's so refreshing to get away for even a few days to a different country.
I'd forgotten how good the Guiness tastes back home! and remembered why I don't bother drinking it anywhere else! We spent a few days driving around parts of Donegal with my parents, stopping off for light lunches, where fish was usually the choice, as it is always so fresh in Donegal. Tour stops included Ballybofet, Stranorlar, Raphoe, Convoy and Malin to name but a few! Here are a few photos of Five Finger Strand, a gorgeous beach at Malin Head with some of the biggest sand dunes in Europe that provided so much fun as a kid with fertiliser bags and sleighs! The other photo is of spring lambs....running, bouncing and being playful....oh don't they look tasty!

Q400 Dash 8 Rainbow Halo

The Flight back

I now write at 21000 ft, as I fly back to Southampton. As we cross form the somewhat cloudy Northern Ireland, over the Isle of Mann as I look down to my left the cloud has cleared to a somewhat brighter day. As we clear the final cloud, I notice a rainbow halo surrounding the shadow of the Q400 Dash 8 that I'm on board, so couldn't resist a quick photo, so here it is.
